About Peaceful Plans
Peaceful Plans gathers everything a Canadian needs to prepare for the end of life into one calm place: wills and testaments, medical directives and advance care planning, powers of attorney, executors and probate, burial plots and funeral preplanning, and the practical steps to take when someone dies.
It exists because the answers used to live in fragments. A will lived with lawyers. A directive lived with a health ministry, under a name most people had never heard. Funeral costs lived with funeral homes. Probate lived with the courts. Families assembled the whole picture during the worst week of their lives, in grief, at full price, against deadlines. This site is built so a family can assemble it on an ordinary afternoon instead.
How every guide is made
- Every rule is sourced to the official provincial or federal source: a statute, a court fee schedule, a health ministry, Service Canada, or the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Every guide carries a last verified stamp, and the sources are printed at the foot of the page.
- The language is plain on purpose. If a document has an official provincial name, we use it, and we say what it means.
- Peaceful Plans is general information, never legal advice. For your own situation, a lawyer or, in Quebec, a notary in your province is the right call, and our guides say so where it matters.
Peaceful Plans is a Canadian site, made in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and run by Pinky for Dade as part of the Dark Haus Studio family of sites.
